Roto-Sumo-Banzuke Haru-Basho 2008

Beitrag von Heikotoriki »

Hier kommt die neue Roto-Sumo-Banzuke kopiert aus dem englischen Forum.

This was a hard banzuke to put together with a couple of traffic jams clogging up the ranks. Most notable was an absolutely nightmarish top of Makushita. Of the top 14 ranked Makushita rikishi on the Hatsu banzuke, only 2 went MK. This of course led to some serious problems in finding room to promote all the KK rikishi. I did at least 5 versions of the Makushita portion of the banzuke, not being real satisfied with any of them, before finally settling on this one. Things got especially tight around Ms6 with Takanokaze only going up one rank with a 5-2 record. Hopefully next basho will present a better balance of KK and MK in the top ranks of that division.

Doitsuyama takes over the top Ozeki East slot and is therefore the highest ranked individual on the RotoSumo Banzuke. Akemisamaru and Heruwejima will be kadoban next basho.

We will have three rikishi with realistic chances at Ozeki promotion to keep an eye on next basho. Leonishiki needs an 11-4 record during the Haru basho to achieve Ozeki promotion. Dimitri can make it with a 9-6 record and Heikotoriki can be promoted with a 12-3.

You will notice that the Makushita division shrunk again, this time down to Ms25. Hopefully this will be the last time it shrinks for a while.

Here are some banzuke notes:

Susamajiiraion returns to Makuuchi after spending one basho in Juryo. Annai is our only Makuuchi debutante, joining the top ranks for the first time after 17 basho spent in Juryo and the lower divisions.

Kaiowaka returns to Juryo after a 7 basho stint in Makushita. Kitano also returns to Juryo, having spent the last two tournaments in Makushita. Andoreasu and Rantan make their juryo division and Sekitori debuts after spending 19 and 14 basho respectively in the lower ranks.

And now, here is you banzuke for Haru 2008:
